Last week, one of my professors, while taking our class said “Money is the main thing that an engineer should keep in mind.”
Then he continued on how to choose the raw materials to come to the finished product with more profit.
He meant that we should buy products in a bulk quantity so that they cost less. And the same quality with lesser price, well, who doesn’t want it?
All this made sense.
However, he further added that this is how you can tell your boss that you have saved the company from suffering a loss and hence, guess what, you can ask for a heavier paycheck!
And then I was shocked.
This reminded me of something else.
I have seen many B.Tech graduates doing MBA. What’s the whole point?
Why the technical information and then suddenly to Management?
Why many of us want to be the CEO of a company knowing every business tactic?
And the answer turns out to be MONEY.
Is that the only thing humans want?
Of course, I am a human too. And hence I have this doubt.
Money is important. I agree to that. But why has it become more than a need? Why people want it so much that they are almost ready to do anything?
I am tired of people saying they just are doing this professional course to earn better. A professional degree!
And MBA is another gateway for them.
So before you going for any such thing, I would seriously advise you to just think once.
Stop corrupting education.
And ask for the same from everyone around you.
It all builds up from every single individual involved.
If you are a student, don’t commit such activity of pursuing a degree only for money.
If you are a teacher, stop telling your students that placements and earning money are the only things needed. Promote their knowledge.
And if you are a parent, try to teach such values to your children. And stop forcing them to earn better to serve you or make a brighter future.
Money is essential but indeed not the most essential thing in the world.
And why do you need more money?
Take a medicine more than you should, and boom! Anything can happen.
If you end up just earning, earning and earning, you’ll stop living.
And just become some lifeless robots!
“Anything in excess can ruin your life”
